As of Q1 2019, 36% of US broadband households own at least one smart speaker that features a voice assistant, according to Parks Associates. Smart speakers with voice assist act as a smart home hub as more households are adopting these speakers as a way to control at least one other smart home device.
Voice assistance, such as Amazon Echo, is an industry driver for service and security providers. The connection between service providers and smart home solutions will be explored in Parks Associates’ annual CONNECTIONS: The Premier Connected Home Conference, featuring a strategy session for service providers.
