Autodesk advances its vision for Autodesk Construction Cloud

Since the launch of Autodesk Build in 2021, we’ve been rapidly delivering on our vision for a connected construction experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), where solutions for the entire digital building lifecycle come together.

In the last year alone, we delivered nearly 300 product updates to ACC, adding new capabilities and connecting critical workflows to help our customers meet the world’s rapidly expanding building and infrastructure needs.

And today at CONEXPO, we’re excited to share fresh updates that further enable a consistent, connected, end-to-end experience for our customers—from design to preconstruction to build to operations.

Streamlined submittals process in ACC

One of the biggest updates we’re announcing today is the addition of AutoSpecs in ACC, giving users a cohesive and connected submittal experience within ACC.

With this new product, users will be able to generate submittal logs in minutes. AutoSpecs automates a manual and error-prone process that can take project teams weeks to complete. This means that teams can spend more time understanding project specifications and focusing on high-value tasks, while still ensuring an accurate and robust submittal log.

Additionally, construction teams can leverage AI to identify missing submittal items before they’re costly errors. AutoSpecs’ suggested submittals, powered by Construction IQ, analyzes the current project specification against historical project data to suggest potentially missing submittals from the project specifications.

And with a direct integration, users can push the submittal log into Autodesk Build—enabling them to track submittal statuses, create custom review processes, annotate and mark up submittals, and even save closed submittals.

Brian Athey, director of construction innovation at Miron Construction, tells us, “With AutoSpecs and Autodesk Build together in ACC, we increase team’s efficiency with the submittal process and reduce the risk of missed submittals. We cannot get this in our team’s hands fast enough.”

Users who purchase the ACC for Construction Operations bundle will have access to AutoSpecs in ACC following its general availability release on March 21, 2023.

Aligning our mobile and web experience with the next phase of our vision

With ACC, we’re focused on connecting teams, data and workflows across all phases of
the project lifecycle on one solution. We are making these connections stronger every day, enabling data to be streamlined across project stakeholders. We know that successful project execution means teams in the office and field are connected.

Mobile is key to that success.

With that in mind, we have updated the name of our mobile app to Autodesk Construction Cloud. The ACC mobile app offers users one place to access all their project information from Autodesk Build, Autodesk Docs, Autodesk BIM Collaborate, or PlanGrid–whether online or offline.

Teams can leverage the app to navigate drawings and BIM models, collaborate on issues and checklists, create markups, link project photos, and much more.

Creating a connected experience

These updates add more functionality and present customers with a cohesive experience, as well as enable them to customize or enhance their experience with ACC. It also gives our customers an opportunity to revisit their clients’ needs as they continue to run, innovate, and grow their businesses.

We’re committed to building and maintaining trust with our customerslistening to their biggest pain points to create and add value where it’s needed most. We’re excited for where the industry is headed and to help our customers discover a safer, more predictable jobsite experience with ACC.
