Passengers travelling through the Kuala Lumpur International Airport requiring COVID-19 screening and testing, can look forward to a safe, efficient and comfortable experience upon arrival, with a new onsite COVID-19 laboratory and health screening facility established inside the airport.
The health screening center allows for passengers arriving at the airport to get tested and obtain their COVID-19 test results quickly. Passengers are can expect to receive their COVID-19 Testing Using Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) results within 15 minutes, and their Reverse transcription (RT)-PCR screening test results within 3 hours.
The facility was established by BP Healthcare in partnership with Malaysia Airports, in an effort to help spur safer travel amid the coronavirus pandemic while accelerating the recovery of the travel sector.
Garvy Beh, Chief Executive Officer of BP Clinical Lab and Executive Director of BP Healthcare said, “This collaboration is timely as the nation prepares to reopen its borders. Our aim is to ensure that all passengers entering the country are duly screened to protect the health and safety of our citizens. We are very pleased to be partnering with Malaysia Airports to provide COVID-19 tests and related value-added services to all passengers at the airports.”
For passengers’ added convenience, all bookings, payments and provision of e-voucher and test results for the COVID-19 screening tests and related services are processed entirely through Doctor2U’s platform, which is powered by Microsoft Azure.
Beh added, “We hope that travelers can travel safely, comfortably and with peace of mind. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, BP Healthcare has conducted multi-million RT-PCR tests nationwide. All our tests are recognized and of gold standard recommended by the Ministry of Health and the Institute for Medical Research in Malaysia, as well as the United States Food and Drug Administration.”
BP Healthcare Group has been partnering with Microsoft Malaysia since 2017 to digitally transform its care continuum and deliver new health services, primarily for its digital health app Doctor2U. The healthcare provider also uses Microsoft Azure, a HIPAA and GDPR compliant platform to power its entire Doctor2U ecosystem.
Doctor2U has grown significantly since it first leveraged on Microsoft Azure platform to power its Doctor2U Mobile Application in 2017. Today Doctor2U has over 10 million users and offers over 10 different healthcare features on its Mobile App. BP Healthcare will be leveraging on the same for its new one-stop airport e-commerce platform, that supports hundreds of different e-payment options as well as insurance claims ensuring a “Total Solution” and seamless travel experience for all passengers entering KLIA and KLIA2.
